Los Angeles-based celebrity chef for hire Mette Williams has burst onto the California culinary scene in recent years. Many may recognize her best from her big win on Anne Burrell‘s Food Network competition series Chef Wanted in 2013. She competed against other contestants for the position of executive chef of Culina, a modern Italian eatery located in the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. Since then, she has transformed the restaurant to make it her own. She focused on utilizing a variety of fresh produce sourced locally and adding some Mediterranean flair to the menu.
Mette relocated to LA after graduating from the California Culinary Academy in 2002. She became a trailblazer for women in the culinary industry when she was hired as one of the first female sous chefs at Wolfgang Puck‘s Spago in Beverly Hills. She spent 8 years working under Wolfgang, absorbing all the knowledge she could about food perfection and the restaurant business. Eventually she left Spago, but stayed under the Wolfgang Puck umbrella working at his popular restaurants Postrio in San Francisco and CUT in Beverly Hills.
Mette worked in the kitchen at Culina through 2015. She worked as an executive chef at several more restaurants including the Lab Gastropub and TOMGEORGE LA before taking a position as a sales executive for worldwide produce.
