Adam Gertler

Celebrity chef Adam Gertler has long been a television personality in the culinary industry. Competing on season four of Food Network Star, Chef Gertler went up against nine other chefs, including celebrity chefs Shane Lyons and Kelsey Nixon, to finish the season in second place. Adam lost in the final episode to celebrity chef Aaron McCargo, Jr. During the nine-week competition, Chef Adam Gertler had the opportunity to cook for world renowned chefs including Giada De Laurentiis, Robert Irvine, Paula Deen, Martha Stewart, and Iron Chefs Masaharu Morimoto, Cat Cora, and Michael Symon.

Following Food Network Star, Adam went on to host the Food Network series Will Work for Food, which allowed him to show viewers food related jobs from behind the scenes. From there he went on to host Kid in a Candy Store, which was similar to his other series with a focus on desserts, allowing him to travel the United States showing viewers some of the most innovative desserts in bakeries, restaurants, and even food carts. Today, Gertler hosts FX Movie Download alongside cohost Sasha Perl-Raver, which airs every Friday on FX. Celebrity Chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger are the Food Network’s dynamic duo, Too Hot Tamales.  These ladies have been leaders in world cuisine since the 1980’s when they created the City Café and CITY Restaurant in Los Angeles. However, the Too Hot Tamales are best known for, as their nickname might hint, authentic Mexican cuisine. Over the past two decades, Mary Sue and Susan have set the standard for gourmet Mexican eats with their widely popular, and critically acclaimed, Border Grill restaurants.  The co-chef/owners serve up some of the tastiest Mexican food in the country at their restaurants in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, Santa Monica, and Los Angeles.  The pair’s most recent endeavor has been launching their Border Grill Truck, which takes gourmet tacos, quesadillas, ceviches, and more, on the road allowing diners to enjoy some of Too Hot Tamales’ specialties from the comfort of their home. In addition to their thriving chain of restaurants, Mary Sue and Susan have become famed television personalities.  Their Food Network show Too Hot Tamales has been on the air since 1995. The too hot tamales became so popular from the show that fans nominated them to be the next White House Chefs.  In addition to their own show, the two have been featured on Bravo’s Top Chef Masters, and have authored five cookbooks including Cooking with Too Hot Tamales, Mesa Mexicana, and City Cuisine.  Outside of the kitchen, or la cocina, Too Hot Tamales are active members of the community. Paul Bertolli

Paul Bertolli is one of the most respected names in the modern culinary community and is known for his work as an executive chef.  His cooking style differs based upon which type of setting he is cooking for, but he has been a prominent member of the California Cuisine movement and traditional Italian Cuisine community.

Celebrity Chef Paul Bertolli has garnered his fame and reputation as a prominent chef in the California food community.  Until 2005, Bertolli was the executive chef for the well-known Oakland based restaurant Oliveto.  The restaurant featured a quiet European setting fit with an abundance of wines and exquisite menu options.  Prior to arriving at Oliveto, Bertoli rose to the national spotlight for his cooking ability especially once he became the executive chef for Chez Panisse.  Chez Panisse is one of the premier gourmet food establishments in California, and was one of the pioneers in the California Cuisine style.  The restaurant flourished under Bertolli’s instruction, and it led him to co-author a book called Chez Panisse Cooking.  The book was highlighted be their use of California Cuisine methods, which uses different types of cooking styles/ingredients in unison partnered with freshly prepared local ingredients.  Since leaving Oliveto, Bertolli started his own handcrafted foods brand called Fra’ Mani Handcrafted Salumi’s.  The company offers an array of specially prepared meats that include popular Italian cured-pork products like salami and prosciutto.  The company prepares and cures all of it own meats and the company slogan read, “From our hands to yours.”  Fra’ Mani has a number of distributors around the country and is one of the leaders in gourmet cured meats in the United States.  In addition to his other work, Bertolli has authored another cookbook called “Cooking By Hand.”

Celebrity speaker Dave Eckert brings more than 25 years of experience in broadcasting, food and dining reporting, and a passion for food and wine to the table in his Emmy award winning show Culinary Travels with Dave Eckert.  Before he landed the hit show, which airs across 160 Public Broadcasting affiliates across the country, he worked as a reporter covering news, sports, and weather before he found his niche in food when he was hired by Chicago superstation WGN-TV to help produce, report, and edit “What’s Cookin’ Chicago.” During his tenure with What’s Cookin’ Chicago, Eckert developed an incredible knowledge for food, and got to meet some of the world’s most talented chefs including Julia Child. This local foodie show in Chicago drove Dave to create his own show Culinary Travels with Dave Eckert. The 30-minute weekly television program features Dave traveling the globe to regions renowned for their amazing dining, wine production and agricultural products.  Dave has built quite the following with the show, and has been recognized twice by the Academy of Wine Communications for his work. In addition to his television work, Eckert has become known as one the world’s most prominent food, wine, and spirits connoisseurs.  The dining expert has a collection of about 3,000 bottles of wine and spirits in his home cellar, with many bottles coming from regions the Culinary Travels host has visited for his show, such as Italy, France, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Scotland, Mexico, and Kentucky. Additionally, Dave Eckert enjoys cooking and pairing wine with tasteful cuisine, and can be found teaching cooking and wine classes at the Culinary Center of Kansas City. He also writes a regular column for the nationally distributed Kansas City Bullsheet, and is a frequent contributor to the James Beard award wining Food section of the Kansas City Star newspaper.

Tommi Rae Fowler

As the cooking craze has increased its profile in the current pop culture market, it has spurned a new generation of food-loving future chefs.  One of these new stars is the rising teen cooking talent, Tommi Rae Fowler.  Born and raised in South Carolina, Fowler has grown up with hearty Southern food and tradition, which she claims is her signature cooking style.

Celebrity Chef Tommi Rae was basically born in the kitchen with her culinary roots dating back to her grandmother’s restaurant.  In the summer of 2014, Tommi Rae was chosen to compete in Food Network’s Chopped: Teen Challenge.  After multiple rounds of competition against some of the other top teen chefs in America, Tommi was able to come out on top and won the competition.  Fowler was the first ever winner of the challenge that just ended its inaugural year of competition.  At just the tender age of sixteen, Fowler was still a middling high school student at the time of the show’s airing.  She’s reached a new level of success in her short career in terms of local publicity.  Since appearing on Chopped, Tommi has appeared on variety of local television and radio shows in her home state of South Carolina.  A few years prior to her entry into the competition Fowler had to deal with a tragedy of her own.  While cooking in her family’s home, she accidently sent the house on ablaze resulting in a catastrophic fire that caused the family to lose almost everything they had.  Initially Tommi thought she never wanted to cook again because the cloud that cooking had cast over her family’s life.  But ultimately she decided that mastering the art that had caused her so much hardship was the goal that she need to work towards.
