Casey Thompson

34-year-old Casey Thompson has achieved great culinary success following her runner-up finish on the third season of Bravo’s mouthwatering kitchen competition show, Top Chef: Miami. Towards the shows end, Casey won the last Top Chef Quickfire challenge against season winner Hung Huyn and Dale Levitski, whom she ended up tying for second place with. Casey impressed Tom Colicchio and his fellow judges with her passion and seasonally influenced variations on traditional American cuisine. Fans also adored Casey, earning her the title of fan-favorite for the season.

Casey entered the culinary world as a lowly prep cook at celebrity chef Dean Fearing’s Mansion on Turtle Creek. While toiling away peeling potatoes and managing hot appetizer and pastry stations, Casey gained the culinary experience she desperately wanted. Recognizing her dedication and expertise, Chef Dean promoted Casey to resident sous chef. A few years later, Casey switched cuisines, accepting an executive chef position at Shinsei, one of Dallas’s most esteemed Asian restaurants.

Following her stint on Top Chef: Miami, Casey returned to Texas as the “fan-favorite” cheftestant. Casey went on to serve as executive chef at Brownstone Restaurant & Kitchen. In 20120, Casey’s success and following in the culinary world had earned her a position on Top Chef: All Stars. Casey finished in thirteenth after many celebrity chef up-and-comers, including Tiffani Faison, Fabio Viviani, and the all-star winner, Richard Blais.

When she’s not in the kitchen, Casey serves as the spokesperson for Napa Valley, Sonoma Coast, and Ghost Horse wineries. Celebrity chef Casey was also recently awarded a position as a culinary ambassador for the Bay Area Red Cross. In the summer of 2014, Casey was asked to participate in the celebrity chef cruise series, Top Chef at Sea. Casey sets sail for the Eastern Caribbeans on the 15th of November aboard the Celebrity Reflection with fellow cheftestants, Hosea Rosenberg, Tiffany Derry, and Shirley Chung.

Gina Choong

Celebrity Chef Gina Choong’s initial passion for food began later in life after marrying into a family of cooks. She started Kitchen Capers, an online forum that allows her to share recipes, the history and traditions behind them, and her cooking knowledge with her broad audience which includes women living in poverty around the world. The hope was that by the women learning to cook, they would not have to live a life of begging on the streets. Choong also participated in other volunteer work, dedicating her time to teaching underprivileged teenagers basic cooking skills as well as the English language.

In May 2005, Choong was hired by Goshen Restaurant to assist in training the staff to cook and serve. The staff consisted of a group of ex-drug offenders who were given a second chance to do well in life. Gina Choong continues to share her recipes on the Kitchen Capers online forum, as well as through her at-home cooking lessons. During the cooking classes, Choong teaches her students how to cook two Asian cuisine dishes each week. Choong has always taken any opportunity to help others in need and to share her love of cooking with those who are disadvantaged.
