Sam’s cooking career started a little different than most. During his junior year of college, Sam worked under Dean Zanella at 312 Chicago. This sparked an interest that would change his life forever. During his senior year, Sam decided to study abroad in Austria and trained under Chef Christian Domschitz. When his time there came to an end, Sam continued traveling around the world studying under some amazing chefs including Chef Paul Kahan.

Sam moved back to Chicago in 2006 and in 2007 and opened the Inevitable Table, his personal culinary company that focused solely on health conscious and nutritious food. Soon after, Sam became the Obama’s personal chef. In 2009 he moved with the Obamas to the White House and became an assistant chef under Executive Chef Cris Comerford. He also became Michelle Obama’s Food Initiative Coordinator. Sam was promoted to Senior Policy Advisor for Healthy Food Initiatives in 2010. Celebrity Chef Sam is comfortable in front of the mic after providing countless interviews, press conferences and fundraising events as the go-to chef on new health initiatives.

Sam spent some of his time in 2014 traveling around the world to promote “Let’s Move!” and acting as a keynote speaker at events. Sam has also been very involved in school nutrition. He led the political defense of the Department of Agriculture’s new school standards in hopes of creating a healthier cafeteria menu.

2015 will be a new year for Sam! In December of 2014, Sam decided to retired his apron at the White House and move to New York City. We are so excited to see what this new path holds for Chef Sam and his inspiring career to create a healthier nation.

Cindi Avila

No one knows vegetarian and vegan food better than chef, public relations specialist, spokesperson and Celebrity Chef Speaker Cindi Avila. Her extensive knowledge about food and her experience in front of the camera makes her the perfect pick for her most recent endeavor as the celebrity spokesperson for innovative vegetable brand Veggie Patch. Because she personally serves her family the brand, she feels that it is a natural fit and is very excited to share her interest with other consumers to incorporate more vegetables into their diets.

After working in several restaurants, Cindi’s love and passion for food grew immensely so she decided to take her culinary ventures to the prestigious Natural Gourmet Institute in New York City where she graduated from the Chef’s Training Program.

She has not only been featured in numerous Food Network series, including Chopped, won TLC’s reality and cooking competition Dinner Takes All, and was even filmed cooking for The Real Housewives of New York City. Cindi starred in several episodes her self-produced show titled Green Goddess as well as appeared on news outlets including Fox News, ABC, CBS, NBC, and Bravo’s Pregnant in Heels.

From there, Cindi served as a spokesperson for Lightlife, one of the biggest vegetarian food companies in the nation and gained insight on the best way to get the “meat-free message” to the world. Her recipes have been featured in the New Greengrocer Cookbook and she put together the Good Morning America cookbook for the iPad. In addition to her television appearances, she is the owner of Green Goddess Public Relations Company, where she recognizes how to get products on TV and how to craft them.

Cindi devotes her spare time through her “No Meat No Problem” and “Green Goddess Food” blogs. She uses these as a means for people to gain awareness about a green lifestyle as well as to provide benefits of eating healthier.

Joshua Drew

Celebrity Chef Speaker Joshua Drew is keeping himself busy these days. His new restaurant Cordoba is set to open this fall, and he is also stepping up to be the chef in residence at Fifty-Seven. The latter is a trendy Los Angeles restaurant that aims to highlight the best food from around the country by featuring a different chef for a season. Josh will succeed chef David Nayfeld, and will bring the local offerings of seafood, meat, and produce to put together a fantastic summer menu before the opening of his own Argentinian-inspired restaurant. Apparently Josh does not mind having a lot on his plate.

Josh has not been in the kitchen long, but he is already establishing a name for himself in the food industry. Rising up from a line cook to working as executive chef in less than ten years is no small feat. He was included on Zagat’s 2012 30 under 30 list of young rising stars in the food and beverage industry was nominated for the James Beard Award for “Rising Chef” the same year. He has also worked with distinguished chefs like Thomas Keller and Michael Tusk.

Certainly Josh has lived up to the hype. Before deciding to step out on his own with Cordoba, which is aptly named after a city in Argentina and California, Josh was executive chef at another restaurant that prides itself on fresh collaborations with local farmers called Farmshop, which is owned by Jeff Cerciello. After working under Cerciello for eight years, Josh credits his mentor with teaching him some of his most important lessons in the kitchen. Armed with his signature knives and favorite saucing spoons, the chef with the tattooed arms works magic in the kitchen and has established a niche for himself in emerging farm-to-table market, which is becoming more and more popular.
