BIO: Chef de Cuisine Koren Grieveson developed her signature style and precise palate while working with partner, executive chef Paul Kahan at Blackbird restaurant where Koren served as sous chef from 1998-2003. While chef at Blackbird, she became part of a team that initiated Blackbird onto the world stage, eventually earning prestigious accolades for its astonishing cuisine.
After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in 1996, she worked at San Francisco’s Aqua under Chef Michael Mina, at Spruce under Chef Keith Luce, and at Crofton on Wells with Chef Suzy Crofton. Koren Grieveson served in the United States Army for nine years and worked in private catering in the entertainment industry. She has been named Best New Chef by Food & Wine Magazine and won the James Beard Award for Best Chef Great Lakes.
