Biography:
Celebrity Chef Scott Conant has created his own empire. He opened his first restaurant, L’Impero, in 2002, and hasn’t stopped since. L’Imporo was featured on the front cover of Food & Wine magazine as one of America’s Best New Chefs. His restaurant received James Beard Awards for Best New Restaurant in the U.S. and Outstanding Restaurant Design.
After receiving such positive reviews with his first restaurant, Chef Conant opened Scarpetta in New York in 2008, which gained him even more success and notoriety. Scarpetta received three star reviews from both the New York Times and New York magazine, and was selected as a Top Ten New Restaurant of the Year by both publications. Scarpetta was also named one of the Best New Restaurants in America by Esquire magazine, received an “Award of Ultimate Distinction” from Wine Enthusiast and a three-star rating from Forbes, was awarded by Zagat as a Top Five Newcomer and a Top Five Italian Restaurant, and has received a nomination for Best New Restaurant from the James Beard Foundation.
Continuing his success, Chef Conant opened another Scarpetta restaurant in Miami Beach in 2008 at the Fontainebleau resort, which received the highest rating possible from the Miami Herald. Both Scarpetta restaurants were included in the 50 Best New U.S. Restaurants in Travel & Leisure magazine.
Since the opening of the Miami Beach Scarpetta, three more Scarpetta restaurants have emerged in Las Vegas, Toronto and Beverly Hills. In 2012, Chef Conant revealed his new SCM Culinary Suite, a private loft in South Hamptons where he hosts dinners, cocktail parties and cooking demos while simultaneously developing new recipes.
Celebrity Chef Scott Conant has also made many television appearances on national television shows such as the Today Show, Martha Stewart Living and Good Morning America. He was the host of Food Network’s 24 Hour Restaurant Battle and was a guest judge on three seasons of Bravo’s Top Chef, alongside judges Gail Simmons and Tom Colicchio. He was a regular judge with fellow restaurateur and celebrity chef judge Geoffrey Zakarian on Food Network’s Chopped and was the champion of Season 3 Chopped All-Stars. In 2014, Chef Conant appeared in a first ever 24-hour cooking event on HSN (Home Shopping Network). Joining fellow celebrity chefs Kelsey Nixon and Jessica Seinfeld, Scott Conant performed cooking demonstrations of recipes from his cookbook in front of a live studio audience and sold hand-signed copies of his cookbook, The Scarpetta Cookbook.
