Tommi Rae Fowler

As the cooking craze has increased its profile in the current pop culture market, it has spurned a new generation of food-loving future chefs.  One of these new stars is the rising teen cooking talent, Tommi Rae Fowler.  Born and raised in South Carolina, Fowler has grown up with hearty Southern food and tradition, which she claims is her signature cooking style.

Celebrity Chef Tommi Rae was basically born in the kitchen with her culinary roots dating back to her grandmother’s restaurant.  In the summer of 2014, Tommi Rae was chosen to compete in Food Network’s Chopped: Teen Challenge.  After multiple rounds of competition against some of the other top teen chefs in America, Tommi was able to come out on top and won the competition.  Fowler was the first ever winner of the challenge that just ended its inaugural year of competition.  At just the tender age of sixteen, Fowler was still a middling high school student at the time of the show’s airing.  She’s reached a new level of success in her short career in terms of local publicity.  Since appearing on Chopped, Tommi has appeared on variety of local television and radio shows in her home state of South Carolina.  A few years prior to her entry into the competition Fowler had to deal with a tragedy of her own.  While cooking in her family’s home, she accidently sent the house on ablaze resulting in a catastrophic fire that caused the family to lose almost everything they had.  Initially Tommi thought she never wanted to cook again because the cloud that cooking had cast over her family’s life.  But ultimately she decided that mastering the art that had caused her so much hardship was the goal that she need to work towards.

As a result of her immense success, it is no surprise that Dupree is a popular guest on numerous television shows. She has appeared on shows such as The Today Show, Good Morning America, and The Morning Show to discuss her famous television series and cookbooks. Dupree has also been featured in periodicals like The New York Times, Better Homes and Garden, and Bon Appétit. With an entrepreneurial ambition, she is also recognized as the Founding Chairman of the Charleston Food and Wine Festival and founder of Southern Foodways, in addition to numerous other organizational roles.

As a leading woman in the culinary industry, Dupree was awarded the “Grand Dame” of Les Dames d’Escoffier, in addition to being named 2013 Woman of the Year by an elite organization of French Chefs in America. Patrick and Gina Neely

You haven’t seen Southern barbeque done right until you watch Patrick and Gina Neely’s Food Network show, Down Home with the Neelys. Follow Productions stopped into the Neely’s famed flagship restaurant, Neely’s Bar-B-Que, to do a short feature on the Neelys cooking up some of their signature barbeque sauce for Bobby and Jamie Deen, but producers were quickly impressed by their charisma, personality, and the Neelys’ authenticity in front of the camera. Their family business continues to thrive, as they have expanded Neely’s Bar-B-Que to include another Tennessee location and Neely’s Barbeque Parlor in New York City. Celebrity Chef Speaker Ashley Christensen got her first taste of the food industry when she began throwing dinner parties for friends and family members during college. Realizing that hospitality and serving up delicious, comforting food was her passion, Ashley started down a new career path as a chef and proprietor, setting her pots and pans down in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her first restaurant, Poole’s Diner, opened in 2007; shortly after, four more ventures followed—Chicken + Honey, Chuck’s, Joule Coffee, and the Fox Liqour Bar. Every restaurant has a unique flavor, putting its own spin on traditional Southern favorites. Ambition is no problem for this motivated chef, who plans to open three more places in the area. Without a doubt, Ashley is a major force in Raleigh’s food and dining scene.

In 2014, she awarded a huge honor in the chef world: the James Beard Award of Best Chef: Southeast; Ashley has also previously cooked dinner at the James Beard house in New York. Her food and work in the kitchen garnered the accomplished chef attention from notable publications like the New York Times, Bon Appétit, Southern Living, and Gourmet, as well as television appearances on MSNBC’s Your Business and Iron Chef America. However, Ashley sees food as more than just a career and way to make money, but more importantly, it is a means to fostering and giving back to the community. Tim Love

Celebrity Chef Speaker Tim Love had an unconventional entry into the restaurant industry, working his way up through the kitchen ranks as a volunteer while in college; it was not long before he was running his first kitchen. After stints at several other noteworthy restaurants in the southeast, Tim set out on his own and opened his first two restaurants in 2006. As he soon realized the potential in the growing dining scene in Texas, the chef went on to open numerous more restaurants in the area, all highly successful and with their own twist on his signature urban western cuisine—the White Elephant Saloon, flagship Lonesome Dove Western Bistro, Woodshed Smokehouse, Love Shack and Queenie’s Steakhouse. His tasty dishes have garnered praise from Bon Appétit, The New York Times, People, Food & Wine, and Food Network Magazines.

Tim has the personality to go with his creative food—you are more likely to see the Texas native wearing a cowboy hat in the kitchen instead of a chef’s hat. Tim’s cooking demonstrations are insanely popular and entertaining, landing him regular spots in around the country at gigs like the South Beach Wine & Food Festival and Food & Wine Classic in Aspen. From competing on Top Chef Masters and Iron Chef against Masaharu Morimoto, to appearances on The Today Show and Good Morning America, Tim is a crowd and critic favorite. In 2014, he joined CNBC’s show Restaurant Startup.

Besides his urban western food palate, Tim also pioneered a trail drive in which he travels from Texas to NYC, collecting local ingredients from farmer’s markets to prepare a meal to benefit Spoons Across America; the journey was filmed by Food Network in a special segment called Cowboys on the Trail. The Hellman’s Mayonnaise spokesman also is an avid supporter of charities and all things Texas such as Burgers 4 Babies and the NICU’s Helping Hands Foundation.  In 2012, the James Beard nominated chef partnered with Sodexo to feed hungry fans at the Texas Christian University football stadium. Additionally, his line of cookware called the Chef Tim Love Collection is available at Sur La Table. When he’s not in the kitchen, Tim enjoys hunting and spending time with his family.
