Robert Irvine

Robert Irvine is also the author of two cookbooks, Mission: Cook! and Impossible to Easy. The cookbooks are based on cooking discoveries of Nathan Myhrvold and his team of scientists and development chefs.  Myhrvold and his team work in one of the most technologically advanced kitchens in the world, using tools such as water baths, homogenizers, centrifuges to discover, create and invent new ways of cooking.  He and his team also tend to use flavor-enhancing ingredients that are less common in the cooking world, such as hydrocolloids, emulsifiers and enzymes.  Nathan Myhrvold values his team very much and sets a great example by using his creativity and interpersonal skills.

Michael Symon is a James Beard Foundation Award-winning American cuisine chef.  His specialty is pork dishes and he is known for his use of bold flavors. Symon has written pieces for several magazines ranging from Bon Appetit to O, The Oprah Magazine. In 2009 Random House published Symon’s first cookbook: Michael Symon’s Live to Cook – Recipes and Techniques to Rock Your Kitchen.  In 2010, following the publication of his first book, Symon became the first chef to host the annual Farm Aid benefit concert, the longest running benefit concert series in America.  Their mission is to help family farmers and educate people about the ‘Good Food Movement’.

Michael Symon is head chef and owner of numerous restaurants in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.  Instead of leaving his hometown to develop his career in the big markets of New York City or Los Angeles, Symon stayed in Cleveland, demonstrating he values of family and loyalty. He owns Lola, Lolita and The B Spot in Cleveland, and has been accredited in Cleveland as helping to save the downtown area restaurant scene.

Masaharu Morimoto

Chef Masaharu Morimoto has gained an artsy reputation in the world of cooking through his unique style of presenting food and through the combination of flavor and techniques of both Japanese and western cooking styles.  Morimoto is a Japanese chef, known for his debut on the Japanese television series Iron Chef and later, Iron Chef America: Battle of the Masters where he went up against world renowned chefs Mario Batali, Wolfgang Puck, and Hiroyuki Sakai.  Many of Masaharu’s exclusive food presentation designs are inspired by his travel from his home in Hiroshima to the United States when he set out to begin his career in New York City.

In 2007 his first cookbook, Morimoto: The New Art of Japanese Cooking, was published, winning two IACP awards and a James Beard Foundation Award nomination. Morimoto is the executive chef at several of his own restaurants including, Morimoto Philadelphia, Morimoto New York, Wasabi by Morimoto in Mumbai and New Delhi, and Morimoto Sushi Bar in Boca Raton, Florida.  In July of 2010, he opened his first West Coast restaurant, Morimoto Napa, on downtown Napa’s new riverfront development.  Recently, in 2012, Morimoto opened his second New York restaurant, the Tribeca Canvas. The restaurant features a menu full of Morimoto’s own bistro-style comfort foods.

Ina Garten

Celebrity chef, cookbook author and TV host Ina Garten has become a well-known Food Network personality after the wide success of her weekly cooking show Barefoot Contessa. Her work on the show that debuted in 2002 was awarded with 2 Daytime Emmy Awards in 2009 and 2010. She has penned her many brilliant recipes in a total of 9 cookbooks and most of them have peaked atop the New York Times Bestsellers list. With her wide popularity as a food personality, many forget Ina’s first major job was in the White House as a nuclear policy analyst under Presidents Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter.

She began her culinary career by first purchasing a small specialty food store in the Hamptons and with no formal training she was able to teach herself about culinary arts with the help of French and English cookbooks. A few years later her store, Barefoot Contessa, became a 3,000 square foot food emporium. She hired cooks and employees to cook the food as well as help customers make their choices on specific food items. This then became the name of her Emmy Award winning Food Network program; Barefoot Contessa, which still currently airs on Food Network today. Prior to the debut of her own show, Ina gained TV experience and a host of fans as a frequent guest on Martha Stewart’s show also hosted by Food Network.

Ina’s cooking style follows a strict recipe of fresh ingredients and she is also very clever when it comes to shaving time off of meal preparations and cooking. Chef Ina also released a series of baking mixes, spices, sauces, and other flavor adding ingredients debuting in stores in 2006 entitled Barefoot Contessa Pantry. While recording her show, Ina has been a columnist for Martha Stewart’s magazine, O, the Oprah Winfrey’s O magazine, and House Beautiful magazine.
