BIO: Celebrity Chef Chef Gale Gand is the executive pastry chef and partner of the four star Mobil, five-diamond AAA, Relais & Chateaux Relais-Gourmand restaurant Tru. In 2001, Gale was acknowledged as Outstanding Pastry Chef by The James Beard Foundation and Pastry Chef of the Year by Bon Appetite magazine, in 1994 was named Food and Wine’s Top Ten Best New Chefs. Gale studied at RIT and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts for American Craftsmen and attended culinary school at La Varenne in Paris. In 2006, Gale opened up a coffee shop called Gale’s Coffee Bar, also opening in the same year, Osteria di Tramonto, Tramonto’s Steak & Seafood and RT Lounge with Rick Tramonto. In Chicago, she opened up an upscale cupcake bakery.

Gale Gand was also the host of Food Network’s Sweet Dreams, which was Food Network’s first all-dessert show. She is the host of an online educational cooking series called, The Answered Chef. Gale’s current show, The Heirloom Recipe, airs on PBS. Gale has a long list of appearances including Martha Stewart, Oprah, Iron Chef America, the Today Show, Baking with Julia Child, and judged the Food Network’s Challenge and the 2008 season of Bravo’s Top Chef. Gale has seven cookbooks, her most recent, Gale Gand’s Brunch, which was released in spring of 2009. Gale also produces her own vanilla cream soda, and a root beer called Gale’s Root Beer with artisanal cinnamon, ginger and vanilla infused. At the USA House at the Beijing Olympics, Gale’s desserts were featured and Gale is an original member of the Macy’s Culinary Council.

Gale is a huge supporter of the Let’s Move project to help families become more active to live a happier and healthier lifestyle. Another supporter of Let’s Move is Dominique Dawes and NFL Quarterback Drew Brees.

BIO: Celebrity Chef Frank Bonannofound his passion for cooking at an early age. Growing up in a Sicilian family, Bonanno can vividly remember how the aromas of his grandmother’s cooking filled his New Jersey home. When recounting his childhood, he also tells of how he and his mother would try out Julia Child recipes on the family in hopes recreating her culinary magic.

After graduating from the University of Denver with a degree in finance, Frank Bonanno determined that Wall Street was not for him. He decided to pursue his love of cooking and obtained a second degree from the Culinary Institute in Hyde Park, NY. Not soon after, in 2001, Chef Bonanno returned to Denver to open up his first restaurant, Mizuna, and has not looked back since.

Chef Bonanno’s restaurants are regarded not only among the best restaurants in Denver, but in the entire United States. Zagat has recognized Bonanno restaurants Mizuna, Luca d’Italia, and Bones as part of their prestigious ranking of “America’s Top Restaurants.” Further exemplifying his culinary skill, Chef Frank Bonanno has opened three additional restaurants ranging in cuisine from French-casual, to American, to Asian.

Bonanno says he “is inspired by classic French techniques, but also by the simplicity of the type of food found in the best American restaurants.” Continuing with this them of simplicity in cooking, he believes in offering “clean flavors that enhance the freshest, finest ingredients.” Both of these statements perfectly sum up Bonanno’s cooking philosophy that the true “star” of his restaurants is the food.

BIO: At age 14, Fabio began working at II Pallaio, a casual Trattoria in Firenze, Italy with stellar, Italian comfort food and a 120 seat cover. With 700-800 guests coming through the doors each night, Fabio Viviani thrived under the high pressure environment and eventually became the sous chef at age 16.

BIO: Eric Skokan was born and raised in Virginia and studied history at the University of Virginia. While working at the award-winning Silver Thatch Inn, Eric quickly realized that he preferred cookbooks to textbook and after graduation; he traveled the world cooking in some of the best restaurants, until 2005 when he opened Black Cat Farm Table Bistro in Boulder.

As the saying goes, farm to table bistro—is true. There is no supply truck making deliveries of frozen foods, Eric Skokan grows his own food on his own farm, which supplies most of what he cooks at Black Cat. Free-range chickens, ducks, quail, hogs and organic produce, and a farm stand at the Boulder County Farmer’s Market.
