Celebrity Chefs Katherine Kallinis Berman and Sophie Kallinis LaMontagne are the masterminds behind the Washington D.C. cupcake bakery known as Georgetown Cupcake. The sisters and business partners opened their cupcakery in 2008 and it has since become a tourist attraction in the DC area. They have since gone on to open two more cupcake bakery locations in SoHo, New York, and Boston, Massachusetts. In 2010 the sisters were approached by The Learning Channel (TLC) for a reality show based on their business and on July 16, 2010, the series DC Cupcakes premiered on the network. The series aired continuously for two seasons and continues to air sporadically to this day. Katherine and Sophie are also cookbook authors with two bestselling books entitled The Cupcake Diaries and Sweet Celebrations.

As the show continued to grow in popularity, so did the demand for Sophie and Katherine to appear as guests on other television programs. Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger

Celebrity Chefs Mary Sue Milliken and Susan Feniger are the Food Network’s dynamic duo, Too Hot Tamales.  These ladies have been leaders in world cuisine since the 1980’s when they created the City Café and CITY Restaurant in Los Angeles. However, the Too Hot Tamales are best known for, as their nickname might hint, authentic Mexican cuisine. Over the past two decades, Mary Sue and Susan have set the standard for gourmet Mexican eats with their widely popular, and critically acclaimed, Border Grill restaurants.  The co-chef/owners serve up some of the tastiest Mexican food in the country at their restaurants in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, Santa Monica, and Los Angeles.  The pair’s most recent endeavor has been launching their Border Grill Truck, which takes gourmet tacos, quesadillas, ceviches, and more, on the road allowing diners to enjoy some of Too Hot Tamales’ specialties from the comfort of their home. Paul Bertolli

Paul Bertolli is one of the most respected names in the modern culinary community and is known for his work as an executive chef.  His cooking style differs based upon which type of setting he is cooking for, but he has been a prominent member of the California Cuisine movement and traditional Italian Cuisine community.

Celebrity Chef Paul Bertolli has garnered his fame and reputation as a prominent chef in the California food community.  Until 2005, Bertolli was the executive chef for the well-known Oakland based restaurant Oliveto.  The restaurant featured a quiet European setting fit with an abundance of wines and exquisite menu options.  Prior to arriving at Oliveto, Bertoli rose to the national spotlight for his cooking ability especially once he became the executive chef for Chez Panisse.  Chez Panisse is one of the premier gourmet food establishments in California, and was one of the pioneers in the California Cuisine style.  The restaurant flourished under Bertolli’s instruction, and it led him to co-author a book called Chez Panisse Cooking.  The book was highlighted be their use of California Cuisine methods, which uses different types of cooking styles/ingredients in unison partnered with freshly prepared local ingredients.  Since leaving Oliveto, Bertolli started his own handcrafted foods brand called Fra’ Mani Handcrafted Salumi’s.  The company offers an array of specially prepared meats that include popular Italian cured-pork products like salami and prosciutto.  The company prepares and cures all of it own meats and the company slogan read, “From our hands to yours.”  Fra’ Mani has a number of distributors around the country and is one of the leaders in gourmet cured meats in the United States.  In addition to his other work, Bertolli has authored another cookbook called “Cooking By Hand.”

Dhani Jones

Dhani Jones is one of the latest celebrities to crossover from the athletic playing field to a celebrity personality.  Dhani has made the rare transition from the ‘athletic jock’ persona, to the cultured travel guide who’s been the host of his own television show.  Dhani’s appeal is unique in the culinary and travel lens, because he attracts a whole new market of viewers who identify with him because of his high profile as an athlete.

Aside from his work on television Dhani has also ventured off to establish a creative agency called VMG Creative, and opened a restaurant called Bow Tie Café.  Additionally, Dhani is a former contributor to the Page2 section of ESPN.com where he provided commentary pieces.  He also did a 7-part series for Men’s Journal called “Spirited Escapes” where he traveled the world and shared his personal experiences about culture and life.

Susan Spicer

A leading woman in the culinary industry, Susan Spicer is a renaissance woman when it comes to cooking. Spicer began her career in 1970 under the guidance of Chef Daniel Bonnot at Louis XVI Restaurant, and later worked at the Hotel Sofitel in Paris with Chef Roland Durand. After spending four months in Paris, she moved back to New Orleans and opened her restaurant Savior Faire in the St. Charles Hotel. She expanded her business in 1986 when she debuted the Bistro at Maison de Ville in the Hotel Maison de Ville. After meeting Regina Keever four years later, she and Keever opened their internationally known restaurant Bayona in the French Quarter. Bayona experienced immediate success and was inducted into the Nation’s Restaurant News Fine Dining Hall of Fame in 1988, in addition to receiving an Ivy Award and being featured as one of New Orleans’s top five restaurants.

An entrepreneur, Spice continued to expand her business and opened up a specialty food market called Spice, Inc. that ran from 1997 to 1999. It provided a wide range of services such as take-out food, cooking classes, and an artisan bakery. With so much success, the market soon developed into Wild Flour Breads, which Spicer currently owns with Sandy Whann. In 2001, Spicer joined forces with The Kimpton Group to open Cobalt, just a year after debuting her restaurant Herbsaint with three other partners. After her Top Chef appearance in 2009, Spicer opened up a restaurant called Mondo in 2010 in the Lakeview neighborhood of New Orleans, where she has lived for 20 years.

In addition to the restaurant business, she also published a cookbook in 2007 entitled Crescent City Cooking: Unforgettable Recipes from Susan Spicer’s New Orleans, which went on to be nominated for Best American Cookbook by the International Association of Culinary Professionals. It was also awarded Best New Cookbook by New Orleans Magazine, and was included in the Best of the Best in a list of the top 25 cookbooks of the year.

With so many successful undertakings, it is no surprise that Spicer received the James Beard Award in 1993, as well as the Mondavi Culinary Excellence Award in 1995. She was also inducted into the James Beard Foundation’s Who’s Who of Food and Beverage in America. Her famous restaurant Bayona continues to make headlines, being inducted into the Culinary Hall of Fame in 2012. More than just a celebrity chef speaker, she also works closely with humanitarian efforts such as Share Our Strength’s annual Taste of the Nation, as well as the hunger-relief fundraiser Taste of the NFL.
