Marcel Biro

German born celebrity chef, Marcel Biró, began his journey to become a world famous chef at the age of six when he began cooking with his chef father. At the age of 15 he entered culinary school, and at the age of 21 he was a European certified chef instructor. Chef Biró continued to speed through the ranks teaching culinary classes during the day and cooking at Michelin star restaurants at night, and by the age of 24, he set a new standard becoming the youngest chef in history to receive the title Master Chef de Cuisine. Prior to receiving the esteemed title, he had already enjoyed serving as chef to German Chancellor Helmut Kohl; however, the best was still yet to come for the young culinary talent.  In 2004, he became the first German to land a national television cooking show deal in the United States.  Chef Biró stars in the Emmy Award-wining PBS series with his wife Shannon Kring Biró, who is also a writer and executive producer for the show, which chronicles Chef Biró’s unique infusion of European and Asian flavors in his culinary masterpieces.  On top of his acclaimed television series, Biró is has co-authored cookbooks Biró: European-Inspired Cuisine, and Ó: SpanAsian Cuisine by Biró, and has been featured in several other media outlets throughout the world including NPR, SmartMoney Magazine, TV Guide, and The Wall Street Journal.  Marcel is also a successful entrepreneur, and serves as the CEO and chef of Biró Internationale, LLC, a company he runs with his wife Shannon, consisting of acclaimed restaurants, culinary schools, and how-to media content. Kevin Rathbun

Celebrity chef Kevin Rathbun owns some of the hottest restaurants in the country. But before he became a renowned chef, Rathbun worked as a dishwasher at the restaurant Sambo’s in Kansas City. Working his way through restaurants and up the ranks, Rathbun became a Chef at Baby Routh in Dallas, a DiRona award-winning restaurant. His display of culinary expertise at Baby Routh led him to become the chef at Nava, a hip restaurant in Atlanta where Chef Rathbun brought Southwestern cuisine to the Deep South. It didn’t take long for Nava to become a hit both locally and nationally. Next up for Chef Rathbun was opening his own restaurant.  In 2004 he opened his namesake restaurant Rathbun’s featuring a wide variety of Modern American cuisine.  The restaurant was a huge success and garnered accolades from Esquire Magazine, Travel & Leisure, USA Today, Bon Appetit, and Southern Living, to name a few. Then, after being inspired by a trip to Spain, he decided to open a wine and tapas bar, and with that the Krog Bar was born. Following suite of Rathbun’s, Krog Bar earned awards from every major foodie news source.  Chef Rathbun continued his restaurant success when he opened up one of the Top Steakhouses in America, Kevin Rathbun Steak.  Only using local produce, organic meats, and heritage bred animals, Kevin Rathbun Steak has been featured on the Today Show, The Early Show, Iron Chef America, and Good Morning America for its delicious eats and widespread popularity. As a result of his achievements, Chef Rathbun has enjoyed getting to work alongside some of the biggest names in the culinary and restaurateur business, such as Bradley Ogden, Emeril Lagasse, Stephen Pyles, Ella Brennan and Pano Karratossos. Chef Rathbun has also been featured on Iron Chef America for the Iron Chef Elk cook-off where he and his brother Kent defeated Bobby Flay to claim the title.

Outisde of his culinary endeavors Chef Kevin Rathbun enjoys reading cookbooks, dining out, fine cigars, restaurant designing, and of course spending time with his wife, Melissa.  He also enjoys philanthropy and contributes to many charities including the Atlanta Community Food Bank, the Live Foundation, the Leukemia Foundation, the Slow Food Movement, the American Cancer Society, and many more.

Jean-Christophe Novelli

Celebrity chef speaker Jean-Christophe Novelli got his start in France, before becoming an international sensation.  Chef Novelli left school at the age of 14 to work at a bakery and gain culinary experience. By the age of 20, he had become a personal chef to the Rothschilds, a family of Austrian nobility. Following his stint cooking for the Rothschild family, he moved to the United Kingdom and began working in various restaurants including the Chewton Glen Hotel in New Milton, Hampshire and Gordleton Mill in Lymington, Hampshire where he won his first Michelin Star as Chef Patron. This success led him to become head chef at the Four Seasons Hotel in London, before eventually opening up his own restaurant Maison Novelli in London. Following Maison Novelli, Chef Novelli continued opening restaurants throughout London, France, and South Africa, all receiving rave reviews. His most proud achievement, however, is the opening of the Novelli Academy, his own culinary school based in his Hertfordshire farmhouse. The Academy has been consistently voted one of the Top Cooking Academies in the World.  Chef Novelli’s culinary expertise has also garnered him the titles of “The Nation’s Favourite French Chef” and “European Chef of the Year.”

In addition to his renowned restaurants and cooking academy, Chef Novelli has become quite the TV personality. He has made many appearances, and has starred on many of the world’s top cooking shows including Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen, The X Factor: Battle of the Stars, Britain’s Best Chef, and his very own Bravo TV show Chef Academy. Jean-Christophe has also authored a recipe book entitled “Simply Novelli” which was released in 2013 and explains how to cook French classics quicker, easier, and healthier.  Outside of the kitchen, Jean-Christophe Novelli is engaged to long time girl friend Michelle Kennedy, and is the father of three children: daughter Christina, who works at Novelli’s Academy, and sons Jean and Jacques.

Jeff Nathan

An innovative thinker when it comes to food, Jeff Nathan is a celebrity chef known to many for his exotic cuisines and revolutionary style. The creator of the only international gourmet kosher cooking series, Nathan’s 1998 show New Jewish Cuisine with Jeff Nathan and Friends is only one of his numerous accomplishments.  Currently the executive chef of The Abigael’s Group, which includes the restaurants Abigael’s and Green Tea Lounge, he is able to tastefully combine the various flavors of contemporary America while still observing the laws of kashruth. As evident by his most recent accomplishments, he is also credited for introducing Kosher Cuisine to mainstream dining in America today. A revolutionary chef with an innate talent for success, Nathan is a Culinary Development Consultant for Hain-Celestial Group and Royal Wines Corporation, too.

A successful career worthy of recognition, Nathan’s show has received a James Beard Award nomination for Best National Television Cooking Series, and his venison chili won the gold in the James Beard National Chili Cook-off award. Very aware of his talents, the James Beard House has also hired Nathan to cook for them numerous times throughout the years. Most recently, Nathan has been teaching sold-out classes at De Gustibus Cooking School at Macy’s for the past several years, sharing his wealth of talent with the public. Keith Famie

As a travel and culinary enthusiast, Chef Keith Famie has seen it all. Famie began his cooking career in the 1970’s while abroad in Europe, finding his passion for culture and cuisine inside the kitchens of Monte Carlo and Brussels. In the early 1980’s, he worked as a chef at Chez Raphael, and in 1988 he debuted his restaurant Les Auteur in Michigan. Both he and his eatery soon gained notoriety in 1989 when it was named as one of the Best New Restaurants in the country by Esquire magazine, the same year that Famie was announced as one of Food and Wine Magazine’s Best New Chefs.

As the years progressed, Famie was eventually offered a position at Forte restaurant as Chef de Cuisine in 1996, which was named as one of Esquire magazine’s Best New Restaurants of the Year in 1997. After several years of success at the restaurant though, Famie decided that it was time to make his jump to television. In 2001, Famie partnered with Food Network to create his television show Keith Famie’s Adventures, which followed Famie as he explored the world’s diverse foods and cultures. He utilized his travel experience in 2002 and 2003 when he published his books Famie’s Adventures in Cooking and You Really Haven’t Been There Until You’ve Eaten the Food.

In addition to his culinary endeavors, Famie is involved in a variety of philanthropic efforts. An advocate of children’s organizations, he often travels to various schools to speak to them about the world’s rich foods and cultures. In addition to his speaking events, he has filmed a variety of human-interest documentaries, which have won a total of nine Emmys overall. He is also an active member of the non-profit organization Rainbow Connection, which raises money for children with life threatening illnesses. Famie truly does embody a worldly and accomplished chef with the passion to speak about the lessons he has learned through his culinary journeys.
