Keith Famie

As a travel and culinary enthusiast, Chef Keith Famie has seen it all. Famie began his cooking career in the 1970’s while abroad in Europe, finding his passion for culture and cuisine inside the kitchens of Monte Carlo and Brussels. In the early 1980’s, he worked as a chef at Chez Raphael, and in 1988 he debuted his restaurant Les Auteur in Michigan. Both he and his eatery soon gained notoriety in 1989 when it was named as one of the Best New Restaurants in the country by Esquire magazine, the same year that Famie was announced as one of Food and Wine Magazine’s Best New Chefs.

As the years progressed, Famie was eventually offered a position at Forte restaurant as Chef de Cuisine in 1996, which was named as one of Esquire magazine’s Best New Restaurants of the Year in 1997. After several years of success at the restaurant though, Famie decided that it was time to make his jump to television. In 2001, Famie partnered with Food Network to create his television show Keith Famie’s Adventures, which followed Famie as he explored the world’s diverse foods and cultures. He utilized his travel experience in 2002 and 2003 when he published his books Famie’s Adventures in Cooking and You Really Haven’t Been There Until You’ve Eaten the Food.

In addition to his culinary endeavors, Famie is involved in a variety of philanthropic efforts. An advocate of children’s organizations, he often travels to various schools to speak to them about the world’s rich foods and cultures. In addition to his speaking events, he has filmed a variety of human-interest documentaries, which have won a total of nine Emmys overall. He is also an active member of the non-profit organization Rainbow Connection, which raises money for children with life threatening illnesses. Famie truly does embody a worldly and accomplished chef with the passion to speak about the lessons he has learned through his culinary journeys.

Patrick and Gina Neely

You haven’t seen Southern barbeque done right until you watch Patrick and Gina Neely’s Food Network show, Down Home with the Neelys. Follow Productions stopped into the Neely’s famed flagship restaurant, Neely’s Bar-B-Que, to do a short feature on the Neelys cooking up some of their signature barbeque sauce for Bobby and Jamie Deen, but producers were quickly impressed by their charisma, personality, and the Neelys’ authenticity in front of the camera. Celebrity Chef Speakers Patrick and Gina soon found themselves with a television deal in their lap, and almost overnight the humble Southerners became stars of one of Food Networks most highly rated shows.

The Neely’s first cookbook, Down Home with the Neelys, quickly climbed its way the New York Times bestsellers list, where it stayed for several weeks. From appearing on the Rachael Ray Show, The View, and Good Morning America to features in USA Today, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, and People Magazine, Patrick and Gina, and their recipes, are highly sought after. In 2009, the high school sweethearts partnered with Kraft to support Huddle to Fight Hunger campaign; they also champion many other charitable causes like the Martin Luther King, Jr. Basketball Tournament and sponsoring over twenty local youth to attend NBA Memphis Grizzlies basketball games.

The success of their original show and cookbook led to a national tour and two more additional series called Neelys Live! and Road Tasted with the Neelys, and the duo are frequent guests on other Food Network shows hosted by Bobby Flay and Paula Deen. Their family business continues to thrive, as they have expanded Neely’s Bar-B-Que to include another Tennessee location and Neely’s Barbeque Parlor in New York City. Though for the most part they work together, Patrick and Gina do have several of their own projects; Patrick is a member of the Shelby Farms Conservancy Board, while Gina belongs to the PTSA, the Memphis Restaurant Association, and the hospitality team at her church.

Rock Harper

Rahman “Rock” Harper won the third season of the Fox reality television show Hell’s Kitchen, hosted by Gordon Ramsey, taking away the grand prize of an executive chef position at Terra Verde at Green Valley Ranch in front of almost ten million viewers, the most the series had ever seen. Celebrity Chef Speaker Rock impressed Ramsay and audiences tuning in with his confidence, along with his leadership and motivational abilities in the kitchen. Since winning the Hell’s Kitchen, he has made several return guest appearances and to face off with former competitors from different seasons. Without a doubt Rock is a fierce competitor—in 2013, he was the winner of the Food Network show Chef Wanted with Anne Burrell.

In 2010, Rock’s cookbook, 44 Things Parents Should Know about Healthy Cooking for Kids, was published. This user friendly cookbook is every parent’s dream resource on teaching their kids how to make good food choices on their own, as well as a guide to finding healthy substitutes and making cooking inexpensive and interactive.

The married father of three also gives back to the community; he is a board member, the director of kitchen operations, and a culinary instructor in the job training program for the DC Central Kitchen, an organization that aims to build community, reduce hunger, and rebuild urban food systems through providing healthy meals; DC Central Kitchen is also where Rock met his future business partner, Aaron Gordon, with whom he opened his signature sausage restaurant Fatshorty’s Sausage Grill in Virginia. Although Rock has cooked at some of the snazziest restaurants in the country, like the Carlyle Club, Ben’s Next Door, and BET on Jazz, the celebrity chef feels most at home mincing and chopping at DC Central Kitchen. Since 2008, he also been the National Celebrity Chef for the national nonprofit organization March of Dimes, which promotes health and wellness for new and expecting mothers and their babies.
